Sarah Nagle is a licensed independent social worker focused on clinical work with children,
adolescents, adults, and families. She graduated with her Master of Social Work degree
from the University of Denver specializing in interpersonal trauma interventions. During
her schooling Sarah assisted with research regarding mindfulness training as a means to
prevent the polyvictimization of homeless youth. Sarah also worked closely with the
Center for Advocacy, Prevention, and Empowerment to design and facilitate a needs
assessment focused on Greek Life students’ perceptions of sexual assault and hook up
culture in order to inform future sexual assault prevention programming on the University
of Denver campus. Sarah sought additional training in systemic therapy, couple’s
therapy, and trauma therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Therapy (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Sarah is also participating in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy consultation to pursue CBT certification. Sarah
has experience working with children and adolescents with severe behavioral and
emotional struggles. She assisted in the development and implementation of
programming based on the Sanctuary Model for trauma recovery for an adolescent
residential treatment program. Sarah has clinical experience working with PTSD,
complex trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment struggles, life transitions, and loss.
Sarah is a generalist practitioner who strives to meet the diverse needs of each client. She
is solution focused and mindfulness based as she assists clients in creating helpful
cognitions, beliefs, and behavioral patterns as well as expand a client’s experience of self.
Sarah currently works as a clinical social worker with the Inpatient Child Psychiatry Unit at the University of Iowa and offers outpatient therapy services to children and adolescents who have discharged from the inpatient unit.
